Swindon play area refurbished thanks to £12,000 Trust grant
A project to refurbish and improve a popular children’s playground in Swindon has been completed thanks to a grant of more than £12,000 from Enovert Community Trust.
The playground at Swindon Playing Fields has been completely refurbished, with the installation of new play equipment, including swings and a scramble net and helicopter springy. Resurfacing works have been carried out to improve safety and the dilapidated security fence has also been replaced along with new self-closing gate.
Sean Massey, Parish Council Chairman at Swindon Parish Council, said: “The existing play equipment on the site had deteriorated significantly since it was installed 15 years ago. The new playground equipment and refurbishment offers local children plenty of fun new opportunities to socialise, exercise and play.
“We are very grateful to Enovert Community Trust for its generous support; the project has greatly improved the experiences for children and parents in the local community.”

Enovert Community Trust funding is available for a wide range of projects that bring benefit to local communities. This may include refurbishment of churches or buildings of architectural or historical significance, or general amenity projects, such as improving disabled access or improvements to parks and nature reserves.
